Why We Do it
We live in a great community, where people readily share a smile with their neighbors, exchange greetings while on a walk and kids still bike with a fishing pole resting on their handlebars. It was a common appreciation of our great community that brought the organizers of this event together, and provided the inspiration for Moonlit Movies. Aside from providing a fun family venue in the summer where neighbors could gather, we wanted to also encourage the efforts of local organizations that contribute to what makes Oconomowoc so great.
Serving the community for years, The Oconomowoc Food Pantry is a non-profit organization, whose sole purpose is providing food and sundries to needing families and persons in the Oconomowoc area. The organization has a dynamic team of volunteers that serve the community in a much needed way.
The Oconomowoc Food Pantry has moved to a wonderful new facility next to St. Vincent DePaul's on Hwy P. This location has given the organization much needed space and presence. This is our fourth year choosing them as the beneficiary of this event. This year is seeing extra strains on local families, and the needs are greater than ever. Please join us in helping them.
Moonlit Movies at Fowler Park, is a free event, but we are encouraging our guests to bring non-perishable food donations to our events. In lieu of non-perishables, the Food Bank will also graciously accept cash donations.
